Editorial NoteAn untagged text of Oku no hosomichi is available at the Japan Association of Literacy and Linguistic Computing (JALLC) website. We proofread this e-text against the printed text of Oku no hosomichi in Nihon Koten Bungaku Taikei, vol. 46 (Tokyo: Iwanami Shoten, 1967). The e-text was then tagged with TEI-conformant SGML tags. We divided the text into sections and added section titles according to the Nihon Koten Bungaku Taikei (NKBT). A percentage mark followed by a back slash (%\) in the copy-text indicates that the preceding two or rarely three kana should be repeated with the first kana glottalized (i.e., with a dakuten); there are also rare cases where this repetition applies to a preceding kanji, as in 暮%\. The JALLC e-text is reproduced without change. Kanji in the e-text that were unavailable in the JIS code table are replaced with kana. To the Oku no hosomichi contents Last revised May 21, 1999 |
